Do you have a Child struggling With spelling?
If you are like me, you as a teacher know first hand how hard it can be when you have a child struggling with reading or spelling. My oldest son struggles with both. He was a late reader and speller. To this day he still struggles with both! I keep hoping his brain will make it all click together, but that click just has not come yet.
This is why I want to tell you about something dear to me. I know it sounds funny, but All About Learning is a company near and dear to my heart. I was reading my sons neuro-cognitive testing results this morning and it is making me really look at my next school year.
Our Journey through learning disabilities
I started homeschooling Matthew when he was just 4 years old. He needed so much help back then. He could not identify or identify any of the letters in our alphabet. He could not write his name. He could barely hold a pencil and it was a bad pencil hold at that. He just struggled so much! I knew I had to keep up the hard work and help with work through his disabilities.
Today he still needs a lot of help but in different ways. I mean that is the whole reason we got the neuro-cognitive testing done in the first place. I wanted to find out what exactly he struggles with so I can adjust my teaching method to better help him.
What I did not know is just how much school is a struggle for him. I didn’t realize how complex his learning disabilities were. What an eye-opener. But as I go through his testing and find the strategies that work for him, I am going to pass them on to you.
Struggling with spelling
One of my son’s biggest struggles has always been with spelling. The English language just does not make sense to him. He doesn’t understand why you use one rule for one thing and another rule for another. He does not understand rule breakers at all!
This is where All About Spelling has really helped him conceptualize spelling for him. He still struggles, but he is 1000x better than he was 2 years ago! I owe it to All About Spelling. All About Spelling helps break down the English language into smaller pieces that fit together like a crazy puzzle.
As a homeschool blogger and teacher, I want to only represent companies I have used and have changed our homeschooling experience. All About Spelling is not just for children with learning disabilities but was designed for ALL children.

Why All About Spelling?
All About Spelling’s curriculum is made up of 7 levels. Each level is a multi-sensory approach to spelling. Your child will use tiles to spell, write spelling words, and say them.
The most effective way to teach any child is through a multi-sensory approach because it will help create better and stronger pathways in their brain. This will in turn help with the identification and retention of each word.
The All About Spelling curriculum is an open and use curriculum. Each level tells you, as the teacher, what to say and how to explain each rule. They also have great games and resources through their website that will help assist your child in learning.
In Conclusion
I highly recommend looking at All About Spelling for your child. Lessons are short and easy to use. You will start to see YOUR struggling speller be more confident in their spelling. You may also like to read my review of All About spelling.
